Food Review: Chinatown Seng Kee Claypot Pearl Noodles

Also know as 瓦煲老鼠粉, this claypot dish attracted my attention even I had a claypot chicken rice and BBQ dishes at nearby Hong Kee Claypot Chicken Rice. The aroma and the gooey texture of the rice noodles with the black soya sauce and pork is simply too alluring not to try. So I ordered a claypot to try.
One mouth tells me that the chef puts in effort to make sure that the rice noodles are cooked and stirred fried with high heat to exude the wok hei and caramelised dark soya sauce flavour infused into the noodles and minced meat. Stirring in the raw egg makes the dish even smoother and the end result is a very easy to swallow mixture of goodness. The pork is properly flavoured and adds to the total balance of the dish with a good counter texture of smoothness. Not that the meat is tough but it's obviously of a meat texture which adds points to the overall dish. It's a dish that you cannot seems to know what's the maximum to eat since it's so easily stomacheable.
Coupled with the chilli which is basically sambal chilli with probably some secret recipe inside makes the whole dish more flavourful with spices.
Definitely a recommend compared to Damansara Uptown Hokkien Mee which dropped standard quite a bit compared to many years before.
